Senegal: Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo is at the helm of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council.

Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo, former Minister of Interior, and Finance Minister, currently chief of staff of the President of the Republic, was appointed by decree as the President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (Conseil Ecomomique, social et Environnemental), replacing Idrissa Seck who was dismissed after declaring that he is leaving the governing coalition “Benno Bokk Yakaar”.

Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo is a graduate of the National School of Administration and Magistracy, of Cheikh-Anta-Diop University and the West African Center for Training and Banking Studies.

He then worked in the Senegalese tax administration. He was also Director General of the Senegalese National Lottery from 2001 to 2003, Secretary General of the Council of the Republic for Economic and Social Affairs from 2005 to 2007, and Secretary General of the Pension Insurance Institute of Senegal.

He was Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the Budget from April 2012 to September 2013. He was then Minister of the Interior from September 2013 to 2017. He was then Minister of Infrastructure, Land Transport from September 2017 to April 20193.

He is the mayor of the commune of Boké Dialloubé (Bokke Jallube), north Senegal.

In April 2019, he became Minister of Finance and Budget, during the September 2022 reshuffle, he left the post of Minister of Finance and Budget to become Chief of Staff to Macky Sall, President of the Republic.

Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo is a long-time and faithful ally of President Macky Sall and one of the founding members of the Alliance Pour la Republique, the party of President Macky Sall, which he created when he left the Democratic Party of Abdoulaye Wade.
